Robin Egg Blue

There is something about a tucked away nest full of blue eggs...

See the cracks? They're getting ready to hatch!

Mama Robin on the look-out

There were 4 eggs but only 3 of them hatched.

The last robin left the nest a couple days ago - actually, I scared it out! Oops! It was fun to see it hopping around, trying to figure out how to fly.

Where was the nest? You got some really clear close-up pictures! New life is always amazing to witness....

Hey Ange! the nest is in the tangle of honeysuckle vines by the swings. the parents didn't really appreciate me climbing on the step ladder to peer in though! well I'm glad these eggs didn't suffer the same fate as the ones last year when the nest in the wreath blew off.

Did you know that robins always built their nest in the pine trees that dad made swings from? I remember seeing their nest and maybe their eggs as a little girl visiting Oma and Opa. Do you think it's possible that these are the great great grandchildren of those robins?
