Baby Weight Gain/Loss Woes: Tuesday's Tip #42

So. You gave birth recently and you're feeling a little concerned that your baby might not be gaining enough weight. Or your concerned that she might actually be losing weight. However, your concern doesn't quite merit a trip to the doctor's office. What do you do? (Insert trumpet blast sound here). You use your handy-dandy kitchen weigh scale of course! (Jeanette's was able to support up to 11 lbs so we were good to go).

Next, place a large enough dish or tray on the scale and cover it with something soft and comfy. Also, make sure the scale is zeroed before weighing your babe!

And finally, place your wee babe on the scale and... you now know her weight! After converting kilograms to pounds, we discovered that Nicole is a solid 9 lbs. Our fears were relieved :).
