Rita's Passing: Wednesday's Woe #38 (late)

Rita MacNeil passed away on April 16 at the age of 68. As her website states it, Rita was "a gentle soul with a heart of gold and the voice of an angel; her music spoke of her love of home and family, the courage to rise above life’s challenges and the hardworking men and women that tie this country together." As a true Canadian original, her music inspired many and she will be sorely missed. She wrote a variety of country/folk songs but her love for the East coast is evident in a number of her albums. Take a listen to her song about Nova Scotia. Doesn't it inspire you to visit the East coast? I would absolutely love to travel to PEI again!
